This paper responds to the growing challenges facing domestic violence advocates in the health care arena. This paper sets out the opportunities presented by health care collaborations to strengthen advocacy and intervention on behalf of battered women, build desirable health care responses to domestic violence, and create practice and policy agendas for advocates within a variety of health care settings. References, a biography of materials referenced, and a glossary of terms are also included.
The paper, published in June 1999, is one of a series of policy and practice papers from the Building Comprehensive Solutions to Domestic Violence initiative of the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence, a project of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
