The 5th annual National Prevention Town Hall features anti-violence prevention approaches in the Mountain region of the United States through a virtual gallery tour of innovative change-making projects and collectives. This gallery tour can allow us to learn about what’s being mobilized beyond the systems we often work in for violence prevention. A panel follows the gallery tour, weaving together meaningful connections and address questions about reconnection, restoration, and re-indigenizing practices in the Mountain region.

This report presents a groundbreaking qualitative research project focusing on the prevention of domestic violence-related homicides among queer and trans Asians and Pacific Islanders (QTAPI).

Much of the mainstream research on gender-based violence (GBV) overlooks or generalizes GBV in AAPI and South Asian communities. To address this gap, SOAR surveyed its member organizations, the only national network of South Asian GBV organizations. This report marks a significant stride towards gathering and disseminating essential data about GBV within South Asian communities.

This report explores how consent and boundaries are understood and practiced in AANHPI contexts, highlights how gender expectations and the need to respect certain individuals make it hard to establish boundaries, and presents recommendations for advocates and educators.

In the summer of 2021, South Asian SOAR (SOAR), convened listening sessions with its network of 30+ frontline organizations across 13 states. These conversations elucidated the complex, nuanced, and often overlooked, challenges and needs of South Asian survivors and communities in the US. This report shares the key findings from those listening sessions, and through it, South Asian SOAR strives to ultimately generate increased funding, improve research & data collection, and drive policy changes that accurately meet South Asian survivors’ needs.

This workshop from NRCDV's 2021 Prevention Town Hall critically examines current border policies and the impact that it’s having on asylum seekers fleeing gender-based violence and immigrant victims that reside in border communities. By providing U‐visa certifications and T visa declarations, law enforcement and prosecution officials add to their arsenal of crime fighting tools when immigrant victims feel safer coming forward to report crimes. This document provides a wide variety of background information on the U‐visa and T visa programs.

Immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and human trafficking face unique challenges when accessing and maintaining safe housing. This document clarifies some misconceptions and provides resources and tools supporting advocacy on behalf of immigrant survivors. 

This research brief synthesizes the latest available information and research relating to the mistreatment of Chinese older adults living in the United States, providing insight into general cultural beliefs, views, norms, of Chinese immigrant communities and how they relate to and influence elder mistreatment.
