Domestic violence in LGBT communities is about abuse of power, manipulation, exploitation, oppression and barriers to service. It is believed to be as prevalent and lethal as in heterosexual relationships, however, there is little available research, many barriers to disclosure and a lack of services and supports. This document, part of a collection designed for domestic violence program advocates, activists working in LGBT communities and those wishing to become allies, lists some of the available literature on LGBT domestic violence and services in the U.S.
