This report is structured around the four key themes addressed during the Making Change Happen: Advocacy & Citizen Participation meeting held in November 2001: 1) engagement in advocacy, 2) issue-based struggle or struggle-based issue, 3) who's who in advocacy, and 4) how to assess success.
Advocates may find this piece helpful for critical thinking and action questions on how to resist cooptation and recapture advocacy approaches that balance policy advocacy and social change activities. Advocates might consider this piece as a catalyst for continuing dialogue, self-awareness and self-criticism work, and big picture visioning.
