This paper summarizes discussions held at an invitational conference designed to bring together key scholars and practitioners from the healthy marriage and domestic violence fields to address a complex issue-different types of intimate partner violence and their implications for practice. This topic has been a source of considerable confusion and tension for a number of years. The report summarizes key findings and provides some guidance to the fields about emerging promising practices.
