Its sections focus on: preparing a media list, preparing for interviews, responding to media stories, generating coverage, and how to place a public service announcement. Appendices include a media terminology list, a sample media alert, a sample op-ed and a sample news release.
This information packet is an adaption from Chapter 4 from "Public Outreach: Tips and Tactics", a 1996 resource kit for advocates developed by the National Domestic Violence Awareness Month Project, a public education project of the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence.
