In this webinar, presenter Chai Jindasurat explains the nuances of intervening with survivors/victims and perpetrators of LGBTQ domestic violence. This includes how homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and other forms of oppression and discrimination create specific barriers to accessing system-based responses for LGBTQ survivors; why hate crimes are intertwined with the issues of domestic violence within the community; and strategies for how your coordinated community response (CCR) can make system changes and build relationships with LGBTQ communities to meet the specific needs of LGBTQ survivors in your local community that fit local needs. NCAVP is a national coalition of LGBTQ anti-violence programs from around the country that coordinates an OVW-funded national training and technical assistance center on LGBTQ cultural competency.
