The majority of people who experience relationship abuse do not receive safety planning services, but technology can bridge that gap. myPlan is a fee app for people in a toxic or abusive relationship and for anyone concerned about a friend or family member with an abusive partner. myPlan assists people to assess the health and safety of their, or a loved one’s, relationship, get personalized strategies to make difficult safety decisions, and connect to local and national resources. myPlan was developed and tested by Johns Hopkins University research with thousands of survivors and advocates. It’s available for download on iOS and Android or as a web browser app in English and Spanish. Though myPlan includes a number of built-in safety features developed by survivors and tech experts, it won't be a safe or accessible option for everyone and should be used on a device an abusive partner does not have access to. The myPlan website includes free downloadable flyers and toolkits for advocates, health care providers, and campuses to incorporate myPlan into their safety resources.
