It is often difficult for survivors to move through a system linearly. An advocate or lawyer can support survivors through the process. Collaboration with other organizations and individuals is critical to meeting survivors’ holistic economic needs for safety. Advocates and attorneys may not always feel empowered to establish and build these relationships, but creating formal processes can support the development of authentic, equitable, and sustainable partnerships.
