Promoting Prevention, Targeting Teens: An Emerging Agenda to Reduce Domestic Violence

This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the status of domestic violence prevention efforts, taking a close look at what strategies have and have not worked and presenting recommendations for promising approaches. Strategies are identified that may close existing gaps in efforts to effectively prevent intimate partner violence in the lives of adolescents and young adults.

Strategies that are highlighted in this report include: "new and expanded curricula; a more intentional focus on violence prevention; after-school programs that aim to build healthy relationships; high quality early education and child care; programs for teenage boys and young fathers; and greater efforts to help young people when they return to the community from foster care, detention or prison."
