This report describes atrocities against children during times of conflict, calling on G8 countries to take the following action:
- Place children at the centre of internationalaction on sexual violence in conflict
- Fund the protection of childrenand the prevention of violence
- End impunity for sexual violenceagainst children
- Ensure the UN has the mandate, capacityand resources to play its role in protectingchildren from sexual violence
The report suggests a deliver-empower-change-reform model for addressing the problem:
- Deliver comprehensive child-centred services
- Empower children and their communities (especially women and girls)
- Change social norms to reduce the likelihood of sexual violence against children
- Reform laws and institutions and build political will to prevent and respond to sexual violence
