This briefing paper and fact sheet describe unique and particular ways in which girls and women of color experience racial profiling and criminalization across a range of situations and settings. YWCA references studies and reports that document patterns, trends, and statistical comparisons between racial and ethnic groups, as well as news articles and media accounts to illustrate experiences of women and girls of color. Where publicly available, the documents have include names to ensure that their stories and experiences are humanized and not forgotten
