In fiscal year 2013, 58 domestic violence homicide incidents took the lives of 80 individuals in Illinois. This report summarizes data and lessons learned from these incidents where a domestic violence situation became fatal.

The Power and Control Wheel was developed from the experience of battered women in Duluth who had been abused by their male partners. It has been translated into over 40 languages and has resonated with the experience of battered women worldwide.
