In 2011, WCADV conducted 6 adult and 2 youth focus groups at DV programs in eight locations around Wisconsin. The purpose of these groups was to understand more about how DV has affected mother-child relationships and learn more about what these mothers and children need from DV programs. The focus groups were supplemented with information gathered from children in support groups in local domestic violence programs. This guide aims to build on existing tools and encourage health care providers to conduct full assessments with patients to encourage interventions that provide adequate treatments and recommendations for survivors of sexual violence.

This report outlines goals for men’s action, identifies how speaking up and activism make a difference, explores what men can do, notes the strategies with which to nourish personal strength, support and inspiration, and acknowledges the mistakes that are easy to make.

This assessment reveals the capacity level of the network of individuals, groups and/or organizations that, through their interaction, have the potential to enhance the primary prevention of sexual and intimate partner violence.

In recognition of the increasing role that social media plays in the lives of survivors as well as programs and staff, this tool addresses the benefits and risks of social media use within anti-violence programs.

The Conversation Guide Series is designed to provide guidance to domestic violence programs working to build their own capacity to provide accessible, culturally relevant, and trauma-informed services.

This guide is intended to inform people who wish to learn more about child sexual abuse prevention programs designed to educate children.It is also intended to assist advocates and prevention educators in selecting or designing prevention programs, and to provide evidence to support prevention educators in their efforts to make the case for the benefits of these programs to funders, parents, or the community at large.

This manual addresses the dynamics of domestic violence in immigrant families; ways to create agency-wide cultural competency training programs; multicultural approaches to shelter protocol development; recruiting and hiring multicultural staff; foreign language needs and helpful interviewing techniques for client intake sessions and meetings; ways to do outreach and collaboration with immigrant communities; and, descriptions of model programs.

The authors discuss moving beyond risk reduction in rape prevention efforts to address ways that men can address rape culture on college campuses. Working from the perspective that both men and women are harmed by rape culture, men can be major allies in prevention work.

This guide is intended to provide sexual violence advocates with information about child sexual abuse prevention programs that target adults. It will provide information about the basics of such programs and an overview of evaluation research for these programs. This guide is intended to assist advocates and prevention educators in selecting or designing prevention programs, and to provide evidence to support them in advocating for these programs to funders and the community at large.

This document gathers federal research about programs that serve children exposed to violence and includes a summary of the practices associated with successful results.
