In 2014, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, about 46.7 million people, or 14.8 percent of the nation’s population, lived below the official poverty level. This report presents data on the relationship between labor force activity and poverty status in 2014 for workers and their families. These data were collected in the 2015 Annual Social and Economic Supplement to the Current Population Survey. Previous years' reports can be found in the Bureau of Labor Statistics' reports archives.
