The primary purpose of this report is to provide a comprehensive examination of the impact of intimate partner violence (IPV) as a supplement to the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS). The findings in this report offer additional information about specific IPV-related impacts, describing the wide range of experiences associated with IPV victimization.

This primer provides an overview of key terms, trends, approaches, and evidence used to frame violence against women (VAW) prevention programming. It is designed to strengthen programming, advocacy, and research for evidence-based violence against women prevention in Africa.
