This February, the Domestic Violence Awareness Project of the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence lends our voice and support to focus attention to young activists working to prevent and address gender-based violence and advance social justice.
October is over and the flurry of activities associated with Domestic Violence Awareness Month has passed. As is the case each year, we take time to reflect on the efforts of the many partners and organizations that participate in #DVAM2017 activities.
Social change becomes possible when individuals, communities and institutions have access to both knowledge and tools for action.
We believe that transformation is possible, that prevention is possible. When we combine awareness and action, change can occur and we will end domestic violence and other forms of gender-based violence.
Advocacy is the voice that calls out inequities, that shines a light on injustices, and directs critical conversations.
