"When Men Kill Women" has sections on: debunking the myth of the stranger lurking in the alley and exposing the reality of a husband or boyfriend with a gun; a summary of key findings; and conclusions around domestic violence and gun access. Two tables chart female homicides by state and other pages provide separate information for each U.S state.
The report findings include that:
* females were more than 12 times as likely to be murdered by a male they knew than to be killed by male strangers
* more single victim/single offender female homicides were committed by males using firearms (74% of which were handguns) than with all other weapons combined.
* the highest rate of females murdered by males in a single victim/single offender reported case was Nevada, followed by Delaware, South Carolina, Louisiana, and North Carolina.
