This strategic plan is a product of the Naitonal IPV Prevention Council and reflects the Council’s dedication to centering those most impacted by violence and establishing meaningful connections with individuals and communities invested in violence prevention.

The National Resource Center on Domestic Violence, in collaboration with partners from across the Northeast region of the United States, held our fourth virtual Prevention Town Hall on September 13 and 14, 2023.

This National Prevention Town Hall uplifted innovative prevention approaches in the Northeast region of the United States that build solidarity across movements to disrupt systems of violence that disproportionately harm Black women and gender expansive individuals. Presenters engaged participants in conversations around critical issues impacting Black women, youth, and gender expansive individuals including reproductive justice and housing as a basic human need and right.  

NRCDV's 2023 National Prevention Youth Summit took place February 27-28, 2023. This inaugural youth-led event centered the voices, experiences, and wisdom of youth leaders engaged in social change work.

This webinar was created for multidisciplinary professionals that serve older adults. Viewers will be able to explain the role of forensic nurses in the response to violence across the life span, and how to engage forensic nurses in an inter-agency coordinated response to abuse in later life.

In this webinar, NRCDV’s Safe Housing Capacity Building Center presents a panel discussion focused on ways to engage youth in program design. Recognizing that young people are the experts of their own lives, staff from Point Source and a member of their Youth Action Council highlight their youth engagement model.

January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month, a presidentially designated observance designed to educate the public about human trafficking and the role they can play in preventing and responding to human trafficking. This toolkit breaks the month down into focus weeks to ensure clear messaging and resource sharing around the theme "Partner to Prevent."

The National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life has designed this set of self-assessment tools to assist communities in evaluating practices within and across key intervening agencies and in building a coordinated response to elder abuse. The tools include a series of workbooks for five key interveners—(1) domestic violence and sexual assault victim services, (2) adult protective services, (3) law enforcement, (4) prosecution, and (5) courts—and one that addresses coordinated community response.

This webinar marks the “official” launch of the Transforming the Gender-Based Violence Movement: Increasing BIPOC Representation and Actualizing Accountability Project (formerly named the Women of Color Coalition Leadership Project), led by Arlene Vassell, NRCDV’s Vice President of Programs, Prevention and Social Change and Dr. Nkiru Nnawulezi, Associate Professor of Psychology, University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
