The article reports, “The University of Northern Iowa will launch its Center for Violence Prevention in January 2011. The center will develop the best practices for responding to and preventing interpersonal violence at Iowa’s three state universities. The CVP will provide education and criminal justice programs to train people to know what to do in emergencies. The University of Iowa is even exploring using it in their nursing programs. …the center’s activities will include victim support services, a conference focused on the role of men in ending violence against women and presentations at national training institutes for campus police, student affairs staff, faculty and students.
