In 2010, the Women of Color Network engaged in a nation-wide survey on the experiences of WOC executives in the domestic violence and sexual assault movements, which identified real issues and patterns to that must be addressed in order to promote leadership of WOC in the anti-violence movement. This report outlines survey findings and action steps.

The Líderes program was created in 2003 in response to Latinas in the Twin Cities of MN asking for leadership opportunities in their communities. In 2006, Casa de Esperanza developed a curriculum for the Líderes and in 2011 it was adopted by Caminar Latino in Atlanta, GA, and adapted for women survivors of domestic violence.
